Rise Up Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation is an animal rescue organisation based in Melbourne, Australia.

Our main focus with the help of our dedicated foster carers, is to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need as well as provide sanctuary to special needs animals and in turn aiding the misconception that disabled animals cannot lead happy and enriching lives. Providing guarded strength and resources to every individual animal that enters our care, giving each the ability to RISE UP above any previous neglect, abandonment, or health obstacle.

  • "Hannah is a lovely person who is extremely passionate about her animals in care. I've adopted a beautiful 2 year old DSH from Rise Up who adores giving leg bumps. Strangely he loves being picked up but hates sitting on laps. He has been in and out of foster care and is still very cautious, but with time and patience he will let his true affectionate personality shine through. Very grateful to Hannah and Rise Up for all the great work they do!"

FAQs

  • Young and neonatal animals are more expensive to adopt because they often spent more time in rescue than adult animals. Young animals will need to stay in foster care until they are old enough to be desexed, and often arrive in poor condition and/or ill and will have to fully recover first before going up for adoption.

  • We offer a 14 day trial period where you may be able to identify whether or not you resident pet will get along with your adoptive pet. If you would like to arrange meet & greet first, please don’t hesitate to contact us about it.

  • No we don’t. We rescue animals that often come from unfortunate situations and we simply want to break the cycle of unwanted litters. All of our dogs, cats and pocket pets will be desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and parasite treated before going up for adoption.

  • Yes and no.

Animals often end up in the rescue system because they have been neglected, mistreated or are ill. Sometimes it’s because the previous owner’s circumstances have changed. We don’t turn any animal away if we have the availability to help them, no matter what condition they might be in, and we will do everything in our power to rehabilitate them. We will be completely transparent about any health/ behaviour concerns we may have.
